Event Spotlight Part 2: SAFe Leadership Retreat & Agile Foundations

26-29 May in Crieff, Scotland.

Radtac attended the first SAFe Leadership Retreat with over 40 leaders from the agile world including members of Scaled Agile Inc.

In 2014 Radtac was invited by the BCS, Chartered Institute for IT, to build and deliver the training for the very popular BCS Foundation Certificatein Agile.

To build on this success – and again at the invitation of the BCS - we authored the companion book to the BCS Course – “Agile Foundation - Principles, practices and frameworks”.

We are delighted that Dean Leffingwell, Director and Chief Methodologist at Scaled Agile, Inc has reviewed our book.

"Agile Foundations provides a much-needed overview of Agile, the new values, principles and mindsets, and the innovative methods that are driving improved software development outcomes worldwide. A great read for every manager and leader embarking on an Agile journey.”

Scaling Agile

Scaling Agile is a topic that causes much discussion in the Agile community. Most of the frameworks described in our book can be scaled on their own. However, the majority of them do not (purposefully, because they are non-prescriptive frameworks). There are also many other frameworks specifically focused on scaling Agile. Examples are LeSS (Large Scale Scrum; Larman and Vodde, 2013) and DAD (Disciplined Agile Delivery; Ambler and Lines, 2012). We believe that ‘SAFe’ is currently the most fully featured, discussed and implemented Agile scaling framework, which is why we have included it in our book.
