We are pleased to announced that we have successfully received Registered Education Provider (REP) status with Project Management Institute® (PMI).
PMI is the “world’s leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project, program and portfolio management profession. Founded in 1969, PMI delivers value for more than 2.9 million professionals working in nearly every country in the world.”
We are always working on initiatives to improve the products and services we provide to our clients, as a PMI REP we will now have the opportunity to offer Professional Development Units (PDUs) and contact hours that are pre-approved by PMI.
We know this will be a great support to many of our clients who wish to maintain PMI certification through the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Program. It also means that we can provide training from a range of PMI project, program and portfolio management certifications. These include:
- PMP®: Project Management Professional
- PgMP®: Program Management Professional
- PfMP®: Portfolio Management Professional
- CAPM®: Certified Associate in Project Management
- PMI-PBA®: PMI Professional in Business Analysis
- PMI-ACP®: PMI Agile Certified Practitioner
- PMI-RMP®: PMI Risk Management Professional
- PMI-SP®: PMI Scheduling Professional
'REP' status gives Radtac course design, delivery and content the stamp of quality consistent with PMI global standards. This is a great accomplishment to the team behind the application and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing our customers with the highest standard of training services.
What are PDUs?
For those of you who are not familiar with PMI or PDUs, here’s a quick reference guide.
PDUs or Professional Development Units are required to maintain PMI or Project Management Institute certified credentials. They are a part of PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program, which aims to ensure that an individual's certification stays up-to-date and relevant. For each of the certifications listed above (excluding CAPM®), an individual is required to earn a certain number of PDUs per three year certification cycle. One PDU is worth one hour of learning/activity time although there are a few exceptions.
You can earn PDUs in many ways including Courses & Training, Organisation Meetings, Online or Digital Media, Reading, Informal Learning, Volunteering, Sharing Knowledge, and Working as a Practitioner. When training through a REP like Radtac, individuals have the added benefit of knowing the PDUs offered have been pre-approved by PMI, which means that claims are automatically expedited for processing.
Please note that you are able to claim PDUs for courses attended with Radtac that took place prior to our REP status. However, as the course you’ve attended was not pre-approved at that time, you would need to manually enter the course details when claiming the PDUs.
We’re looking forward to bringing your further exciting news throughout 2017. We are preparing some great things for you in the training area, so look out for further announcements over the upcoming year.
If you have any questions about PMI, or our training services just give us a shout and we’ll be happy to help you.
